Welding   Machining
Our refurbishment projects portfolio holds many examples of our expertise.
By using varied welding and machining processes we are able to offer a cost effective alternative to new replacement components
supplied sometimes with an excessive lead time by orginal engine, pump and other equipment manufacturers.
Typical components refurbished include:
- Propeller shaft seal liners
- Pistons (aluminium and steel) and cylinder heads
- Propeller shafts (cladding and repair)
- Rudder stocks, pintles and blades
- Pump shafts and casings
- Windlass shafts
- Stabiliser fin shafts.
Atlantic Engineering holds major classification societies approval for our repair and refurbishment processes
as a solution to marine component renovation problems.
Spiral welding is used to repair and restore components to their original dimensions and strength.
A comprehensive range of base materials may be treated using this process;
which also allows the parent metal to be overlaid with a superior material to improve component resistance to wear or corrosion.
Material which may be used in this process include:
Inconel, Monel, Stainless Steel, Stellite, Aluminium and Aluminium Bronze.
The mix of Atlantic Engineering's skilled workforce including our in-house Matellurgical Laboratory staff,
enables us to offer unpralleled services to our customers.
